It's baby's first day of day care and every negative thought possible occupies the brain: what if he's bored? Will they show him enough attention? Mommy wonders if he misses her. She worries frantically, far more than the baby, especially if the baby is less than 7 months. Reassuring that the baby is active, loved and nurtured eases the mother's pain.
Childtime Learning Centers from Learning Care Group, Inc.
Some mothers have found remedies for their worries by claiming to recieve better care for their infants at Childtime Learning Center, a subsidiary of Learning Group Inc. Childtime Learning Center was founded in 1967 and has grown to a network of more than 275 locations. It is the second largest for-profit provider of early childhood care and education services in the United States. The centers offer childcare to children over six weeks of age, and educational services to children from infancy through 12 years old.
"My son has been here since last year," said a mom from the Rahway, NJ branch, Kenya Bowman, in an interview at the daycare on August 21, 2008. "The Childtime programs are good. The children interact with each other. At 3 months, my son was finger painting, and he was drinking from a cup early," she said.
at the Childtime Learning Centers located on 215 Elm Avenue Rahway, NJ. The teachers emulate the mother's care by thoroughly examining the student's background and the mother's style of caring for their infant. Director Farhang Nematallahi believes in providing the best quality care for infants and children at her day care by following the Childtime policy and making sure that mommy and baby are happy.
"We try our best to care for the kids with love out of a homelike setting," said Nematallahi in an interview at the daycare center on August 21, 2008. "We teach the children based on a curriculum from the corporate office."
She maintains a controlled environment by carefully observing the infant's health, logging in every detail and activity and enforcing a no-uncovered- shoe policy. Each parent and care giver is screened (fills out paperwork) and is put into a computer system so that only the parents and a selected few can get in an out of the building. Infants are encouraged to develop their motor skills and senses. They participate in story time and sing along.
Although, in the past, one of the branches located in the Seattle area tarnished the company's name, the Childtime policy is a strict one that caters to the growth and development of their children. The Rahway branch is an example of the services that Childtime provides, and it has gotten recognition from several mothers in the New Jersey area.
